Curated by Liceo Scientifico Leonardo of AgrigentoCoordination: Dr. Patrizia Pilato (Head Teacher), Prof. Tommaso Gibilaro (Mathematics and Physics Teacher), Prof. Fabio Zarbo (Drawing and Art History Teacher)The project celebrates the meeting between science, art, and technology, transforming a public space to be redeveloped into a hub of interdisciplinary culture, innovation, and participation. Through a rich program of events, the initiative aims to create an open dialogue between the past and the future, tradition and modernity, with a particular focus on inclusion in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and the enhancement of cultural heritage. The main goal is to make the public space a point of reference for the community, where citizens and visitors can immerse themselves in an experience that weaves together creativity and knowledge. The project includes a variety of activities designed to engage people of all ages and backgrounds: stimulating conferences, interactive workshops, multimedia exhibitions, and theatrical performances will offer opportunities to learn, discover, and reflect. Each activity will be designed to promote accessibility and inclusivity, demonstrating that science and culture belong to everyone. Among the most significant initiatives is the 360° Virtual Tour of the Luigi Pirandello Theatre, which allows for a virtual exploration of one of the city's iconic landmarks, blending technology with historical heritage. The "Tell Science" competition will offer students and enthusiasts the opportunity to express themselves through creative narratives that connect science to everyday life, while the "Science Culture Week" will transform the public space into a lively open-air laboratory, with activities ranging from science communication to artistic experimentation. |
A bridge between the past and the futureThe cultural value of the project lies in its ability to stimulate curiosity and promote a sustainable and creative approach to knowledge. Through the interaction between art, science, and technology, the initiative not only celebrates the cultural identity of the area but also invites the community to envision a future where innovation and tradition can coexist harmoniously. Redeveloping a public space with these activities means transforming it into a vibrant and accessible place, capable of generating new connections between people, ideas, and disciplines. The impact of the project goes beyond the temporary experience of the events. It aims to leave a lasting mark on the collective perception of the value of culture and knowledge, fostering the creation of new synergies between schools, cultural institutions, and the local community. In this context, art and science become tools to address present challenges and imagine innovative solutions for the future. Ultimately, the project seeks to convey a clear message: culture, science, and technology are the foundation upon which to build a more inclusive, sustainable, and creative society. By redeveloping a public space with activities that intertwine knowledge, innovation, and cultural heritage, the initiative aims to make the community the protagonist of a shared vision of the future, where tradition and modernity meet to generate new opportunities. |
