The goal is to raise public awareness on crucial issues such as equality, solidarity, and social justice, highlighting the works of one of the most enigmatic and influential artists of our time: Banksy. Through this exhibition, the intention is not only to admire extraordinary artworks but also to create an opportunity for reflection on the contradictions of our world and promote social change. The concept of the project is rooted in Banksy's unique ability to speak directly to people's consciences. Each piece of the artist's work is an invitation to question injustices, inequalities, and the paradoxes of contemporary society. His often provocative images serve as a call to action, a way to break down barriers and confront our contradictions. The exhibition thus becomes a vehicle to amplify these messages, connecting them with the work of organizations that actively support the most vulnerable.

The history of the Banksy Modeste Collection, from which the displayed works come, is itself a symbol of commitment and passion. In 2019, thanks to the support of a group of friends, the SAS Banksy Modeste Collection was founded with the aim of preserving and spreading the artist's message through exhibitions that support causes inspired by his ideals. The exhibition will be inaugurated in December, with a final moment on December 18, in conjunction with International Migrants Day. This date, chosen deliberately, emphasizes the value of solidarity and inclusion. The event will take place in an atmosphere of openness and accessibility: admission will be free, and the public will be invited to support the project through voluntary donations or the purchase of screen prints created specifically for the exhibition. Part of the proceeds will be donated to a local association active in the area, further strengthening the connection between art and community.

Art as a tool for change

In addition to the exhibition, the project includes a series of meetings with the press and local associations. These moments of dialogue will serve to present Banksy's work and delve into the social issues that characterize his pieces. The exhibition will not be limited to a visual display, but will also provide a space for discussion and awareness, engaging the public in a rich and meaningful experience.

The cultural and social value of the project lies in its ability to connect contemporary art with universal and urgent issues. The Banksy Humanity Collection is not just a celebration of street art but a catalyst for change. In every city that has hosted the Banksy Modeste Collection, the event has engaged local associations, providing them with a platform to share their mission and attract the attention of the wider public. Since 2021, the exhibition has already visited 14 French cities, welcoming over 240,000 visitors and raising more than 250,000 euros for charitable projects.

The initiative, curated with great dedication by the founding members of the Banksy Modeste Collection, who will be in Agrigento at the end of January for a residency, demonstrates how art can become a bridge between culture and social engagement. Thanks to collaboration with local associations, the exhibition not only celebrates the work of an extraordinary artist but also invites each visitor to reflect and take action, bringing forth the transformative potential of art.
